The color of summer = vibrant shades of watermelon ...in thread!
This yummy thread is Lizbeth from Handy Hands. Size 10 #628 Salmon Med & #679 Lime Green.
And the gorgeous, tatted rosette pattern is from Jon at Tat-a-Renda.
So while the kids are in the pool & the dogs and I are lazily lounging in the shade...
...there is tatting to be done.
I'm not sure if I have developed a full-blown problem, but I find myself needing to keep my hands busy with some sort of thread work. And I mean ---> constantly! there must be some sort of yarn or thread passing through my fingers or I start to get physically fidgety in my chair.
This drives.my.husband.nuts.
But seriously! Since his John Deere tractor quells an/all sorts of jitters for him...
...well, honey?!...
Thread does it for me.

Beautiful work. One of my true regrets in life is that I never truly learned to tat. I "play" with it, but I wouldn't really call it tatting. Your colors are wonderful! I love Lizbeth thread...use #20 with crochet.
Dawn: I'm the same way with having to have some kind of handwork to do while sitting or waiting...or watching tv or listening to an audiobook...have to have my hands busy all the time. That tatting is absolutely stunning. I tried needle tatting in a class once...just never got the hang of it. Bravo to you for a most delicious design!
What beautiful work! I wish someone would teach me to tat! I have to be working on something or reading when I am sitting.
Okay Dawn - that tatting is your most beautiful work yet! And that says a lot because I love everything you make. I also like to always have something to work on or I think I'm wasting time - embroidered while I got my pedicure Friday!
That is fantastic. Do you find that tatting is easier than crocheting with thread? I recently started a few thread crocet projects and was just wondering.
So amazing!!!! What a lovely blog you got!
That is absolutely gorgeous!!! :)
Love to see your creation !
Even if I "cry" a little, because I'm not able to tate.....and don't know anyone who can teach me...
Have a great week !

That is absolutely beautiful! I agree with having a thread or yarn project going while watching TV. It's so relaxing, and I feel like it's time well spent.
Wow that is just so beautiful. I never tried to many large projects so I give you credit for this one. Can't wait to see it finished.
Beautiful work - love your color choices.
Délicious! Those are beautiful and so perfect.
And you are right, we need to have always some work in our hands...For my husband the worst is when I am saying: "Wait a minute...I am counting"
Such a beautiful combination of colours and flowers!
And I need to make something all the time too :) sewing or stitching or crocheting - perfect for relaxing ;)
Hugs,
Tatyana
Beautiful! You inspire me to learn to tat!
This is just lovely! Nicely done. :-)
This is truly gorgeous! Just like all your work! You always inspire me! Thank you for all the info on the threads/color/pattern etc!!!!! You are so right about having thread/yarn in the hands - it is like therapy in some ways! :O) I love getting lost in thought in a project and being productive! This is SO pretty!
ooooh, yum! This looks fabulous. I just bought myself a Craftsy tatting course, can't wait to get started!
yes, just stunning......I too would love to learn how to tat! Thanks for always sharing.

And I love your tatting here- stunning!
Wow, that is beautiful!
Love the bright colors of these pretties!
Hello!! It's me again! I just had to tell you that I just wound my first center pull ball of yarn thanks to you! I got to the end of my plastic wrap tube and it was such a nice tube I remembered your post on nostepinnes and had to run and try it! Worked like a charm! Thanks for all the fun information you share with us on your blog! I learn so much from you! I am sooo very excited to have these balls for my next project wound with a center pull! :O)
That is so darn pretty! Something new I'll have to try out. I'm still just getting the hand of crochet with big easy projects.
I love that you do this by the pool. I'm in Minnesota and I'm crocheting by the lake!
