My dear blog-irlfriend, Kris from Quilted Simple asked if I would crochet an edging for her daughter's pillowcases -- and yes! her young daughter made them using vintage bedsheets -- how cool is that?
aSo our nice mailman brought their package and I got to work with this simple & and yet so elegant crochet trim.

And with the leftover Aunt Lydia's Fashion Crochet Thread, size 3 in Warm Rose, I made Jessie a headband by repeating an easy-peasy sc and dc pattern.

And if you don't have this book -- you must add it to your crochet library. Nicky Epstein is the queen of incredible crochet stitch patterns. It is one of the most used crochet books in my collection.

God does an amazing job on plumeria -- Jessie does an amazing job on the pillowcases...

This pink is so very pretty, not too sweet and not too greyish. Especially mixed with the yellow of the fabric. I always love extraordinary colour combinations and this is really great, merry and colourful but not overbright. And I think I really have to try this crochet border now, too, I have seen it on so many blogs now, all inspired by Rosehip I think and your use of this extrathin cotton yarn maybe is the best solution for making it a bit more easy. Thanks for this inspiration. (And I am sure that she will love your handmade pillowcase and the headband, what a charming idea)
ReplyDeleteI just love crocheted borders. As for the book, I bought it some days ago and I'm waiting impatiently to receive it in my mailbox. Cheers from Belgium. Rachel D.
