Although --the entire space of the cabin was no larger than our living room -- so I doubt this constitutes as a 'walk through".But the quilt. It caught my breath when I saw it hanging on the log wall. Such simple colors, but so vivid with the contrast of the red & white fabrics.
And oh! Those hand-quilted stitches. It made me positively speechless. The lighting was poor as we stood there and I just have to wonder about the woman who undoubtedly completed a strenuous, chore-ridden day -- only to sit in the dimly lit cabin to make this quilt with her tender, meticulous stitches.
What a find! Really pretty, I just love old quilts.
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty - I just love old quilts like this one. I cannot imagine the time it took!

ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable quilt, Dawn -- anyone that quilts by hand impresses me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment on my Roslynn quilt. My husband is quite surprised at the positive comments I have received about the quilt name! :)
Happy Stitching!
Truly amazing...and lovely :c)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see a quilt top in a yard sale or antique shop I think about the woman who made it - the time, the love, the thought. It makes me want to rescue it - and all too often I can't afford to rescue the ones I see. :( This one is really special. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteHello Dawn,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind kind kind comment on Roslynn and the Wholecloth quilt block. I have yet to receive my copy -- now, you've gotten me really curious to see how the wholecloth was photographed.
I want you to know that I do always appreciate your encouraging words. I am honored to know you as a fellow quilter!
